Uncle Bike is out on a special ride
Quick note from the bike guy: I'm out on a special ride for a bit.
For the next stretch, I'm delivering the Tyendinaga Township Cycling Wayfinding Project — 74 signs across five colour-coded loop routes, built so riders can explore the backroads without a phone, a map, or a plan. It's one of the first dedicated cycling wayfinding networks in the Bay of Quinte region, funded by an Ontario Trillium Foundation Seed Grant and delivered through Explore Hastings County in partnership with Tyendinaga Township.
This is the kind of work I've wanted to do for a long time — real cycling infrastructure, permanently in the ground, for riders who just want to show up and ride. Shannon Road. Phillips Road. Callaghan Road. Places you'd never find without the signs.
What this means if you're looking to book Uncle Bike
- New clients: bookings are paused while this project is in the ground. Drop your email in the little "Notify me when bookings reopen" form (tap the sticker in the corner of any page) and I'll let you know the moment the calendar opens back up.
- Past clients: I'd still love to hear from you. Tap the sticker and hit the "I've worked with Uncle Bike before" button — you'll get my text line.
- Everyone else: the site stays fully open. Poke around, read the service pages, dig into the Tyendinaga story.
Back in the shop soon. In the meantime — pick a colour and ride.
